I, Isham Hodges Junior of the County of Sumnerand State of Tennessee, being weak in body but of sound mind and memory,blessed be Almighty God for the same do make and publish this my lastWill and Testament in manner and form following this is to say. First, Ihereby constitute and appoint Meredith Hodges my sole Executor of this mylast Will and Testament. Secondly, I wish all my just debts paid andThirdly: I give all my estate Real and personal after paying my debts tomy beloved wife Sarah Hodges and my seven children whose names are DanielStokes Hodges Samuel Woodrid Hodges and Milissy L. Hodges, Marquis A.Hodges and Harriett L Hodges, Sanford P. Hodges and Clerrissa M. Hodgesin common among them all to have hold possess and enjoy the same until mychildren becomes of age to act for themselves, then for each one toreceive their part as they come of age having due regard to an equaldivision among my wife and children. The last Will and Testament of Isham Hodges decd was exhibited in courtfor probate and duly proved by the oath of Aron Hodges and Rowland Hodgessubscribing witnesses hereto and ordered to be recorded whereuponMeredith Hodges the Executor therein named appeared in court and togetherwith Aron Hodges and Samuel Cockran his securities entered into andacknowledged their bond to the Governor in the sum of Twelve Hundreddollards conditiond as the Law directs and took the oath of Executorprescribed by Law and the same time returned into Court and inventory ofsaid decedants Estate which is ordered to be recorded.

In the name of God Amen.
Know all men by these presents that I Isham Hodges, Senior of the Countyof Sumner and the State of Tennessee, knowing the uncertainties of lifeand the certainty of death have thought----to make and publish, this mylast Will and Testament and by these presents do make and ordain this mylast Will and Testament in---and for all following to wit.
First I give and bequeath unto my beloved wife Betsy Hodges, a lifetimeEstate in all my Estate real and personal not hereafter disposed of by meto have, hold,possess and enjoy the same during her natural life,Secondly I give and bequeath to each the lawful heirs of my oldest sonAsa Hodges one dollar to be equally divided among them and their heirsforever.
Thirdly I give and bequeath unto my son Rowland T. Hodges one dollar tohim and his heirs forever; Fourthly I give and bequeath unto the lawfulheirs of my son Isham Hodges one dollar to them and their heirs forever.
Fifthly I give and bequeath unto my son Meredith Hodges one dollar to himand his heirs forever. Sixthly I give and bequeath to my son WilliamHodges to him and his heirs forever one dollar. Seventhly I give andbequeath unto my son Ezekiel C. Hodges, Thirty-one acres of land lying onthe east side of us entry made by a Kentucky warrant and on the southside of a forty-five acre tract on which he now lives, to him and hisheirs forever to have, hold, and possess and enjoy the same forever.Eighthly I give and bequeath to my daughter Betsy Ausbrooks the sum offifty dollars at the decease of my wife Betsy Hodges to be paid to thesaid Betsy Ausbrooks by my daughters Milly Hodges and Phebe Hodges and mytwo grandsons Isham H. West and David H. West each paying 50/100 dollars.Ninthly I give and bequeath to my daughter Milly Hodges the one-thirdpart of my land after taking out Ezekiel's thirty-one acres, and bayhorse colt now in my possession, two feather beds and furniture. TenthlyI give and bequeath unto my daughter Phebe Hodges the other third part ofall my lands as above, and one roan filly now in my possession and onefeather bed and furniture. To the said Milly and Phebe Hodges to have,hold, possess and enjoy same forever. Eleventhly I give and bequeath untomy two grandsons Isham H. West and David H. West the other third part ofmy land and one feather bed each, and one horse beast each of equal valuewith that given to my daughter Phebe, to be equally divided between them,to them and their heirs forever. Twelfthly the remainder of my Estate atthe death of my wife Betsy Hodges I wish equally divided between mydaughters Milly and Phebe Hodges and my two grandsons Isham H. West andDavid H. West, to them and their heirs forever.
Thirteenthly I wish all my just debts paid. Fourteenthly I hereby appointEzekiel C. Hodges and Meredith Hodges, my Executors of this my last willand testament. Fifteenthly I hereby revoke all former will byme---heretofore notifying and confessing this my last will and testamentthis 23rd day of December in the year of out Lord, one-thousandeight-hundred and twenty-nine.
